September 1st club meeting launched the 2022-2023 season of community service via “Red Cart” donations of menstruation products for the Mooresville Kindness Closet and the United Way to help end period poverty among middle school and high school students in the Iredell-Statesville School System. The program aims to keep female students attending school during their menstrual cycle despite not being able to afford monthly menstruation supplies. Bags of collected products were stuffed to facilitate the cause.
Guest speaker for the Sep meeting was “Mrs. C” a NB Mills Elementary School Counselor. Statistics showing improvements in the school’s impacts and growth were positively shared among attendees. Noteworthy accomplishments were reductions in disciplinary issues. Initiatives for clubwomen to aid students were discussed.
